Fax Fetch is an extremely
easy to use program with a self-explanatory interface.
If you need assistance you may contact
us, review the example below, or
read about Fax Fetch setup and
options.
Here are some tips for
new users:
- While a word or phrase
may be entered in the keyword field for targeted results,
leave this field blank for MAXIMUM results.
- Enter as many prefixes
as you wish in the prefix field (separated by SPACES). To
determine prefixes closest to your location, look in the front
of your phonebook.
- DSL, cable, and others
with high speed Internet should set the URL timeout (under
Options) to about 5 seconds for fastest operation. Dialup
users should leave the default at 20 seconds. This tells Fax
Fetch to move on if a website is down or not responding.
Example:
FaxFetch allows you to
quickly obtain fax numbers from the internet for a given Area
Code, Prefix (one or more) and optional Keyword. The results
of the search can be saved to a file or copied to the system
clipboard.
Lets suppose your friend
lost his dog, and you want to send "Dog Missing" fliers
to pet stores in your town. Lets look at how easy it is to search
for targeted fax numbers.
Step 1. - Type in the
Area Code
Step 2. - Type in one or more Prefixes, separated by spaces
(a Prefix is the first three digits following the area code)
Step 3. - Type in the keywords "pet store"
Step 4. - Press the search button
If you simply want to
find many fax numbers in the area (not just pet stores), do
not enter any keyword.
Once the search has begun,
you can watch the progress on the bar at the bottom of the screen.
You can also decide to cancel a search in progress.
Obviously, search results
will only be as accurate as the search engine. If you use a
search engine to search for "pet store", you are going
to get more than just pet stores. But the results will be much
more targeted than just a random query.
When the search has completed,
you can press the Save to File or Copy to Clipboard buttons
to save the retrieved numbers to a text file or copy them to
the system clipboard for pasting into another application, such
as a word processor.
Note: Fax Fetch
is capable of using one of several popular search engines, and
even allows you to add as many additional search engines as
you wish.
